Dr. Joydeep Ghosh Joins CognitiveScale as Chief Scientific Officer
It is with great pride and joy that we are announcing Dr. Joydeep Ghosh has joined CognitiveScale as Chief Scientific Officer. Dr. Ghosh will continue as the Schlumberger Centennial Chair Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin in addition to joining the CognitiveScale executive team.
We deeply respect Dr. Ghosh’s commitment to data science and the contributions he has made that have advanced cognitive computing beyond academia and into real world applications in every industry around the globe. He has been a part of CognitiveScale’s story since our earliest days, serving in an important advisory role.
It is also worth noting that several members of our team, including our CEO Akshay Sabhikhi, and Research Engineers Dr. Ayan Acharya and Dr. Natalia Arzeno, studied under Dr. Ghosh as part of their undergraduate and PhD studies.
In his role as Chief Scientific Officer, Dr. Ghosh will be responsible for shaping corporate vision, influencing technology strategy, overseeing algorithmic science, and positioning us for growth in the coming months and years. His insight and expertise will be aimed at crystalizing our core and unique competencies and driving seamless integration across our data, algorithms, software and user experience design. He will also play a key role in shaping how we evolve and grow as an organization – including making strategic resource and hiring recommendations.
Dr. Ghosh was recently awarded the 2017 Distinguished Clinical Research Informatics Paper Award from AMIA – making this his 16th Best Paper Award over the course of his distinguished career. In the coming days, Dr. Ghosh will work closely with our technical teams to further develop our unique AI and data science capabilities that are critical for CognitiveScale to deliver AI You Can Trust.
